The making of "The Dance of the Sea"

The Dance of the Sea came out of five to seven years of research oriented hardwork taking guidance from E.Forsters's Aspects of the Novel, Paul Ekman's Emotions Revealed, Freud's Interpretation of Dreams, Satre's Being and Nothingness, Mill's System of Logics, Kalpana Ram's Mukkuvar Women, Isabelle Naboko's The Religion Against the Self, P.T.Srinivasa Iyengar's The History of Tamils from the Earliest Times to 600 AD, Daniel Dennett's Breaking The Spell( Religion as a Natural Phenomenon), Carl Jung's Man and His Symbols, The Undiscovered Self, Russel's Why I am not a Christian and many more books relevant to various stages of the Novel, taking field survey and interviews with persons who resemble the characters of the Novel. Research papers were gleaned to accurately write about the sea, sky and stars, marine species, historical conflict between traditional and motorised fishing techniques and nature of sea, and tsunami.

There were scenes where characters of the novel had to undergo the phases of grief, horror and love, scenes where author had to elucidate self-deception, sentimentality and virtues of erotic love,  and scenes where the author ought not to confuse care with caring, sympathy with empathy, for which the philosophical work of philosopher Robert C. Solomon came handy from the book titled as In Defense of Sentimentality.

The book's copy editing and proof reading has been handled meticulously by highly experienced and professional editors, Ms Suzanne Bowen, and Ms.Kelly Branchal who rated this as the best book that they had ever edited, and they were hand-picked by Mr.Robert Price of Gatekeeper Press. The plot has been tightened gradually over a long passage of time to escalate the tension between characters. Intriguing suspense crept around naturally along with story to hold readers in awe.
